Antonio Aricò
Elena Milani
Antonio Aricò is an artist, designer and creative director. Born in Calabria, after earning a double degree from the Politecnico di Milano he completed a Master’s focusing on the themes of Design & Tradition, intertwining art, craftsmanship and design. With his humanistic background, Aricò brings a deeply human touch to the technical world of design, creating a universe where designer, artisan and end user feel welcomed and embraced. Through his projects, he explores new design themes, favouring the romantic, the fantastic and the archetypal over mere functionality. In his world, cold industrialism gives way to the poetry, fantasy and romanticism of the past, vividly reimagined for the present. Aricò is recognised as a pioneer of a distinctive approach in which craftsmanship and self-production run parallel to industrial design. His evocative work spans across furniture, product design, bespoke projects, private homes, curatorial initiatives and art direction. He offers new solutions that resonate with both heart and mind, while redefining the boundaries of traditional thinking.
Master ceramicist Elena Milani began her journey in 2018. Nature’s organic forms surrounding her atelier in Valchiavenna (near Sondrio) are an endless source of spiritual inspiration for designing and creating artistic ceramics, especially for the garden. Her vases, decorative elements and furnishing accessories are characterised by a clean and refined design. The natural world she portrays in her series of objects is inspired by themes related to nature, such as plants, seeds, soil, leaves, fruits and insects. Her exploration of shapes and volumes is achieved through subtraction, pursuing a minimalist style that is more evocative than descriptive. Her narrative addresses the challenges generated by humanity’s intense impact on ecosystems. It is both a cry of warning and a celebration of nature’s beauty, starting with the powerful life force that flows through it. Her studio specialises in the design and production of artistic decorations. For Elena, decorating means adding value and communicative strength to spaces, whether private, commercial, or tourism-related. Elena holds workshops on the main techniques of ceramic moulding and decoration at her atelier, in museums and schools.
