The work of architect and designer Alberto Biagetti and artist Laura Baldassari, founders of Milan’s Atelier Biagetti, blurs the boundaries between different disciplines. Biagetti and Baldassari draw on the world that surrounds us for inspiration. Their works have been displayed in many galleries and cultural organisations such as the Milan Triennale, as well as top exhibitions like Art Basel. Alberto Biagetti first embarked on his career in 1995 in the Milanese architecture studio of Luca Scacchetti, and continued to work with Alessandro Guerriero, founder of Studio Alchimia. He opened the Radiosity studio and Futurarium School, where students and professionals worked together to create experimental projects in the fields of art, architecture and design. In 2000, he became the Creative Director of the YOOX Group (2000-2013) and in 2003 he founded Atelier Biagetti so he could autonomously focus on his own interdisciplinary experimentation. Laura Baldassari first started out her artistic career in the musical sphere as an opera singer, before branching out into art and design, theatre and performance. She attended the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna, and in 2006 won the MIUR award for painting. As an artist, she has worked with major galleries and museums, and in 2011 took part in the 54th Venice Biennale.

Ceramica Gatti 1928 is one of the most important and venerable ceramic ateliers in Italy, with a reputation that precedes it internationally. A small atelier that made pottery history, but one that has worked with many international artists and designers over the course of time. Founded in Faenza – the cradle of ceramics – by painter and sculptor Riccardo Gatti in 1928, it soon made its mark with its research into innovative techniques and the languages it used. Today, thanks to the management of the Servadei family and under the artistic direction of Andrea Anastasio, it continues this tradition of excellence in both the design and the techniques it uses: in the historical premises of the atelier, which remains in the same location to this day, decorative and furnishing complements are made in contemporary style. The pieces are glazed and decorated with metallic reflections, the hallmark of Gatti’s style, and one for which the atelier has developed a much-loved technique all of its own.
