Korbinian Stöckle
Martin Potsch is a German designer and artist. He studied design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, graduating in 1993. He produced his first performative projects and works of art while still at university. They were followed by long years working in the fields of communications design for television and corporate design. Since 2014 he has worked on artistic projects using the material of glass. In 2018 he started to collaborate with Korbinian Stöckle and his team at the Gernheim and Derenburg glassworks, as well as numerous other glassworks elsewhere in Europe. His creations are on display in many public collections and galleries in New York, Munich and Basel, and he has received several awards for his design and art.
Korbinian Stöckle has been a member of the team at the LWL Museum of Industry Gernheim Glassworks since its founding, in 1998. He is one of the most expert master glassblowers in Germany. After a traditional training in the technique at the Zwiesel Glass Skills College, in Germany, he studied design and glass sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, under Professors Seemann and Hewel. Stöckle has made regular appearances at international exhibitions of the art of glass since 1992, has received a series of awards and since 2019 has held the post of president of the Glass Art Society NRW e.V. His great versatility and experience make him a craftsman much sought after by artists and designers for the realisation of special projects.
