Elisa Uberti
Pino Grasso Ricami
Elisa Uberti is a French artist and designer who has worked in her atelier in Roubaix since 2018. After years of working in the fashion industry, driven by a profound passion for refined and timeless objects, Elisa Uberti naturally gravitated towards craftsmanship. Drawn to the allure of ceramics and the tactile joy of hand-crafting, she yearned for creative freedom and a return to simplicity.
Grès, her material of choice, is primarily used to sculpt designs with curved, comforting shapes that echo ancestral handiwork. Her creations form a distinctive microcosm, and a departure from the uniformity of mass production. Her entire body of work is distinguished by monochromatic solutions with linear surfaces, lending her objects a contemporary feel without sacrificing the spontaneity of the manual touch. Hers is a refined universe, drawing on a plethora of mineral and organic inspirations, from nature and nomadism to architecture and the poetry of space. Her work bridges tradition and modernity in an ongoing exploration of volumes and primordial, emotional and tactile forms.
Pino Grasso Ricami is a beacon of embroidery for high fashion in Milan - and indeed worldwide - and boasts an archive of over 10,000 samples and fifty years of experience in the trade. Founded by Pino Grasso, an extraordinary master who honed his skills in France’s top ateliers, since 1958 he has crafted hand embroidery for the most illustrious Italian fashion houses: Valentino, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Etro, Gucci, and many others. Today, the workshop is managed by his daughter Raffaella and a team of skilled designers and embroiderers, where everything is done by hand, from the design, sampling and selection of materials, to pouncing the fabric with powder and crafting the embroidery itself.
