Gianni Cinti
Elena Mulas
Born near Perugia in 1979, Gianni Cinti graduated from the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Urbino, where he developed a cross-disciplinary approach that soon led him into the world of fashion. For more than five years he was on the creative team of Gianfranco Ferré, whom he considers his mentor, and has then worked as a consultant for several brands. Since opening his studio in Milan in 2010, in addition to fashion he has been engaged also in the fields of design, publishing and food. He has taken part in numerous projects merging creativity, design and methodology, thus revisiting the field of artistic craftsmanship and re-imagining noble materials such as ceramics and textiles. Featured in numerous specialised magazines, his creations have received prestigious awards (including the Mention of Honour at The Lucky Strike Design Award and a nomination for the 2018 Compasso d'Oro). Cosmopolitan, keen traveller and contemporary art enthusiast, Gianni Cinti has been Visiting Professor at numerous international universities and currently teaches at the Istituto Europeo di Design and the Politecnico di Milano.
The Artessile atelier run by Elena Mulas is renowned for its handcrafted textile furnishings of the highest quality. Elena regards the art of weaving, which she learned through many years of practice on her grandmother's loom, as a precious heritage handed down by the women of the house. Her technical skills have been complemented by the professional expertise she acquired working, from a very young age, in the textile company she has taken over in the course of time. Elena Mulas is a key figure in the production of traditional textiles for interior design. Her production, for which she uses natural raw materials such as Sardinian wool, linen and cotton, has been exhibited at several prestigious events, receiving important awards. The atelier is located in the picturesque setting of Urzulei, a small village in the Ogliastra region, where Elena passionately perpetuates this ancient craft. In addition to aficionados and tourists, her clientele comprises many of Sardinia's accommodation facilities.
