Five bowls realised from the fusion of glass slivers. From the wooden models, the refractory moulds are obtained; here, the transparent glass plaques are kept until they reach the correct curving. After the slow cooling process, every piece is polished until it reaches the correct width.
Giorgio Vigna
Born in Verona in 1955, he pursued his professional training between Venice, Rome and Milan. The organic forms he creates, always bridging reality and imagination, manifest primary, primordial aspects. Adventures made of earth, water, wind and fire in which natural and artificial elements combine, and where preciousness blends with simplicity: sculptures, jewels, works made with paper mirror the amplitude and depth of his own research. In 2013, for his personal exhibition Stati Naturali at the Castelvecchio Museum in Verona, he creates for the fountain of Carlo Scarpa Acquaria, a permanent installation in glass. His works are present in private and public collections around the world, including the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg, the MAD Museum in New York, the Designmuseo in Helsinki, the Honolulu Museum of Art.
Claudio Tiozzo
Claudio Tiozzo is a master glazier from Murano, carrying forward, with great savoir-faire and dedication, the craft his father Sergio started in 1952. The workshop firstly specialised in the production of Murrina glass, based on an ancient, complex artisan technique entailing a number of successive steps. From the 1990s onward, the atelier’s production expanded to include vases, mirrors, lamps, plates, jewels and other glass creations. Fluid lines and bright colours concur to create a harmonious combination in which unexpected see-through and light effects give rise to appealing glass objects with a modern, contemporary flair. Master Tiozzo takes part in international events and fairs while cooperating with Italian and foreign designers and architects.
