Pierre Gonalons
Craman-Lagarde
Pierre Gonalons is a French designer and creative director. Born in Lyon with an Italian cultural background, he has developed a vision of design that combines an echo of the decorative arts and popular culture with minimalist lines. His work, deliberately poised between the anonymous and the spectacular, privileges the expressiveness of the material and the way in which it is utilised, whether modern or traditional. After graduating from Camondo school, he founds his own creative studio at the age of 23 and collaborates with prestigious brands, while simultaneously developing his very own limited edition for international galleries. In the pure tradition of the greatest holistic interior architects, and fueled by his own experience in furniture design, he takes at heart to draw every single detail of his decors, down to the finest element.
Located in the French town of Revel, Maison Craman-Lagarde has been perpetuating a five generation long tradition of excellence in cabinet making. Its talented craftsmen specialize in manufacturing exceptionnaly intricate replicas of furniture ranging from 18th century historical pieces to art Déco and contemporary masterpieces such as the Le Monde secretary design by Pierre Gonalons. Craman-Lagarde is one of the very last companies to master such a degree of traditional excellence and is particularly renowned for the delicacy of its marquetry work. Craman-Lagarde is part of the Manufactures EMBLEM group.
