Villa Mozart
On the occasion of the 2025 Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week, Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte is pleased to present a special edition of Doppia Firma: Dialogues Between Design and Artisanal Excellence to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this project developed with Living – the interiors, design and lifestyle magazine published by Corriere della Sera – under the patronage of the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship.
In 2025, Doppia Firma celebrates its tenth anniversary. This edition revisits some of the dialogues fostered in the past while also affirming the value of a methodology that looks to the future. The exhibition comprises eight iconic creations from past editions of Doppia Firma which meaningfully illustrate the evolution of the project, along with seven new pieces commissioned from international designers collaborating with Italian artisans from alpine areas.
After presenting, in previous editions, the importance of urban manufacturing, family businesses, European ateliers and rare artisanal trades, this year Doppia Firma highlights the alpine ecosystem, as rich as it is fragile. The aim is to create a connection between the designers’ inspirations and local artisanal know-how – often underestimated or overlooked – to craft objects far removed from the clichéd image of alpine style.
The objects will be exhibited in the sumptuous rooms of Villa Mozart, one of Milan’s historical architectural jewels: a sophisticated 1930s treasure trove in the heart of the city, which is not normally accessible to the public. The exhibition is hosted at Villa Mozart thanks to the generosity of the Richemont Group and Giampiero Bodino, artist, designer and artistic director of the Group.
