Nota Bene
The concept stems from the idea of the bound book - from the way in which a book may be bound, but also from what can take shape starting from the book itself. The result is a doll composed of printed, monochrome notebooks, folded and layered together, accompanied by a series of specially bound exercise books.
“Librarti has all the know-how and experience required for bookbinding, paper cutting and printing. For me it was a perfect match, as I have always been passionate about working with paper in all its possible forms. I immediately sensed the potential for a playful and stimulating collaboration—and that is exactly what it turned out to be.” (Clara von Zweigbergk)
“I was particularly interested in her clean, precise style and careful choice of shapes and colour. I immediately saw in Clara a distinctive and recognisable personality (identity). In general, my work involves shaping projects using my skills. In this case, the project already had a shape (the mannequin/doll) and the challenge was ‘how’ to put the elements (notebooks) together using the most suitable materials to achieve the desired result.” (Michele Pernaci)
